Emlen Tunnell (Emlen Lewis Tunnell) (“The Gremlin”) (S/HB), born March 29, 1922, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Attended Radnor High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania; and the University of Toledo before transferring to the University of Iowa. Played for the New York Giants, 1948-1958; Green Bay Packers, 1959-1961. Pro Bowl Selection, 1951-1958, 1960. Chosen by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee to the All-Pro Squad of the 1950s. Chosen as an All-Time All-Pro in 1969. Emlen Tunnell was the first African American to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. He died July 23, 1976, in Pleasantville, New York.
